He had worked independently for advertising agencies in the commercial photography for over 19 years, time in which he had collected many international recognitions and awards. Among others: Cannes Lions National Diploma, London Festival, ANDA (Venezuela’s Advertising Standard), FIAP, Festival del Caribe and 2 years in a row As Photographer of the Year. His art work focuses on a social statement through Images full of social content.

Aku selalu tidak kuasa menolaknya. Aku tidak kuasa menghentikan langkahku dan berbalik lagi menuju kamarku meninggalkan mahluk itu sebelum mahluk itulah yang meninggalkanku. Desisan-desisan itu.. suara-suara itu seakan menjadi tali yang menjerat dan menyeret seluruh tubuhku.

Segera aku lipat selimut jingga yang telah kucuri dari senja sebelum orang-orang menyadari bahwa selimut jingga dari senja telah aku curi. Selimut jingga itu begitu tipis hingga dapat kulipat menjadi selebar buku catatan, dan ketebalan lipatan itu tak lebih dari tebal kitab suci yang dulu semasa kecil sering kita baca bersama di surau dan madrasah. Lalu aku selipkan selimut jingga itu ke dalam jaketku dan aku berjalan menjauh dari pantai, berpura-pura tidak terjadi apa-apa.

Julia Fullerton-Batten was born in 1970 in Bremen, Germany. Her father was an avid photographer, and she borrowed his camera quite a bit in her early teens.

After a B.Tech diploma in photography, Julia Fullerton-Batten was a freelance assistant for five years. Sheidentifies this time as the most formative in her professional career. Although she still shoots a lot of commercial work, she treasures her fine art photography for the creative freedom it allows her. Several years into her professional career, she still wakes up full of ideas forher next shoot.
